Job Summary
Detail-oriented and motivated, the part-time or full-time Occupational Safety Data Analyst will analyze workplace injury and illness data, classify cases using the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) coding system, and draft incident narratives in a fully remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Review and classify workplace injury, illness, and fatality records using the BLS Occupational Injury and Illness Classification System (OIICS)
- Draft clear incident narratives summarizing case circumstances while exercising independent judgment on complex cases
- Collaborate with team members for guidance and quality checks, while managing multiple work queues and deadlines
Required qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in communications, health/environmental science, statistics, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply rules consistently and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint)
- Experience or strong interest in data analysis, public health, occupational safety, or epidemiology
- Outstanding time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
