Job Summary
To support a dynamic healthcare team, the full-time remote Certified Coder will accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes for billing, ensure compliance with payer policies, and provide ongoing training to staff on coding and compliance issues.
Key responsibilities
- Determines accurate coding for billing services provided by physicians and licensed non-physician providers
- Performs activities related to physician practice management and coding to maintain compliance with regulations
- Provides training and education on coding and compliance issues to physicians, non-physician providers, and staff
Required qualifications
- High School diploma or GED; Certification in CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT; or specialty coding with 1-3 years of related experience
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding used for billing services
- Understanding of third-party fee profiles and reimbursement requirements
- Familiarity with current issues and trends in medical coding procedures
- Analytical ability to gather, interpret data, and implement solutions
