Job Summary
To support a dynamic healthcare team, the full-time remote Ohio Licensed Certified Coder will determine accurate coding for billing services, ensure compliance with reimbursement policies, and provide ongoing training to staff.
Key responsibilities
- Determines accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes for billing services provided by physicians and non-physician providers
- Performs activities related to physician practice management and coding to maintain compliance with payer reimbursement policies
- Provides training and education on coding and compliance issues to physicians and staff while interacting with patient care providers regarding billing policies
Required qualifications
- High School diploma or GED; certification in CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or specialty coding with 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes used for billing services
- Understanding of third-party fee profiles and reimbursement requirements
- Familiarity with current trends in medical coding procedures and requirements
- Analytical ability to gather, interpret data, and implement solutions
