Job Summary
To support outpatient ancillary services, the full-time Ohio Licensed Coder II will translate medical narratives into accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes, ensuring coding quality and productivity while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Reviews and assigns accurate codes for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency records, maintaining a coding accuracy rating of at least 95%
- Performs coding efficiently to meet productivity standards and assists in achieving departmental goals
- Reviews and resolves claim edits, making necessary corrections based on feedback from payers and auditors
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Formal education in ICD-9-CM/CPT coding, medical terminology, and anatomy
- At least 1 year of acute care coding experience
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
