Ohio Licensed Financial Clearance Rep

Job Summary

To support a dynamic healthcare team, the full-time Ohio Licensed Financial Clearance Rep will manage patient eligibility verification, pre-certification processes, and maintain relationships with medical staff while working remotely from Ohio.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitates customer interactions using health information systems and telephone technology to ensure a seamless experience
• Performs patient searches in EPIC, assesses financial ability to pay, and refers to financial counseling as needed
• Obtains insurance precertification and authorization numbers while ensuring accurate patient information is entered into accounts

Required qualifications

• Associates degree or higher, or high school diploma/GED with 2+ years of experience in insurance, healthcare, or a related field
• Knowledge of coding, insurance, and Federal, State, and third-party billing/reimbursement requirements
• Experience with PC applications, including MS Office and Internet
• Ability to handle sensitive situations and establish effective working relationships with patients and team members
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
