Job Summary
To support cancer registry operations, the full-time Ohio Licensed Oncology Data Specialist will be responsible for abstracting and submitting cancer data for multiple hospitals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and conducting quality audits, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct accurate cancer case ascertainment and maintain compliance with American College of Surgeons and State of Ohio requirements
- Code and classify disease stages and treatment information, while running audits to ensure data quality
- Assist in training and mentoring cancer registry staff and compile reports based on registry data for internal stakeholders
Required qualifications
- Oncology Data Specialist credential (formerly CTR) required upon hire
- Associate's Degree, preferably in allied health
- 1+ years of experience in cancer registry, medical records, or coding
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Experience in a large academic medical center or multi-hospital health system preferred
