Job Summary
To support cancer registry operations, the full-time Ohio Licensed Oncology Data Specialist will abstract and submit cancer tumor registry data for multiple hospitals, ensuring compliance with standards while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate cancer case ascertainment and maintain quality of registry data
- Code, classify, and index disease stages and treatment information while running audits
- Assist in training and mentoring registry employees and compile reports based on registry data
Required Qualifications
- Oncology Data Specialist credential required upon hire
- Associate's Degree, preferably in allied health
- 1+ years of experience in cancer registry, medical records, or coding
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Experience in a large academic medical center or multi-hospital health system preferred
