Ohio Licensed Oncology Data Specialist

Job Summary

To support cancer data management, the full-time Ohio Licensed Oncology Data Specialist will abstract and submit cancer tumor registry data for multiple hospitals while working remotely and ensuring compliance with American College of Surgeons standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct accurate cancer case ascertainment and maintain a maximum abstracting delay of 6 months from diagnosis
• Code, classify, and index disease stage and treatment information, while running audits to ensure data quality
• Assist in training and mentoring cancer registry employees and compile reports based on registry data for physicians and administration

Required qualifications

• Associate's Degree preferably in allied health
• 1+ years of cancer registry, medical records, or coding experience
• Oncology Data Specialist credential required upon hire
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Access and Excel
• Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
