Ohio Licensed Outpatient Coder

Job Summary

Translating health care services into standardized codes, the part-time Ohio Licensed Outpatient Coder will work remotely to maintain timely coding and billing processes while collaborating with providers and clinical documentation specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Translate outpatient health care services and procedures into standardized codes
• Maintain timeliness of coding, billing, and accounts receivable using Epic work quests
• Respond to documentation clarification requests and query providers for resolution of incomplete documentation

Required qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in HIT/HIM, or high school diploma with AHIMA Coding Basics Program completion
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• 1 year of outpatient coding experience
• Must pass internal coding test
• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P certification, or must obtain within 90 days of hire
