Ohio Licensed Outpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a HIM Outpatient Coding Lead Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Create education teams and topics for internal coding consistencies and research updates to coding procedures
• Assist with training new or existing coding specialists and provide cross-training as necessary
• Review abstracted data elements and ensure accuracy in EPIC for outpatient accounts

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Associate degree in health information or related field is preferred; bachelor's degree is preferred
• AHIMA or AAPC certification is required
• Minimum of 2 years of coding experience is required; 3 years is preferred
• Experience in ICD-10-CM, CPT coding, and classification systems is required
• Proficiency in MS Office or similar software is required; 3M software is preferred
