Job Summary

Working remotely Monday through Friday, the full-time Ohio Licensed Trauma Registrar will manage the abstraction and coding of medical record data for trauma patients, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, abstract, and accurately enter trauma patient information into the trauma registry in a timely manner
• Complete final entry of patient data no later than 60 days post-discharge and participate in data validation
• Assist in preparations for trauma center verification and ensure compliance with reporting requirements

Required qualifications

• Knowledge of and skills using Epic and Excel
• Completion of 8 hours of trauma registry-related continuing education per year as recommended by the American College of Surgeons
• Obtain required certifications/education within one year of hire as directed by the American College of Surgeons
• Associate's Degree in healthcare or two years of relevant experience including medical terminology
• Previous data registry experience including knowledge in case abstraction and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding
