Ohio Licensed Underwriting Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing Commercial Lines Underwriting team, the full-time salaried Ohio Licensed Underwriting Specialist will underwrite new business submissions and renewals, oversee territory growth and profitability, and collaborate with various internal and external partners while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new business submissions, renewals, and endorsements while maintaining compliance with underwriting guidelines
• Oversee the growth and profitability of an underwriting territory, providing performance reports and action plans to leadership
• Collaborate with sales, claims, and agency partners, and mentor new associates in the underwriting process

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial multi-line underwriting
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field
• Completion of a certificate in General Insurance and Associate in Underwriting program
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting systems
• Ability to mentor and support team development
