Job Summary

A company is looking for a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processes and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and audit bi-weekly payroll reports and serve as backup for monthly payroll processing
  • Transmit payroll files to financial institutions and process federal, state, and local tax payments
  • Collaborate with HR Representatives on payroll processes and assist with various payroll-related tasks and documentation
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business or accounting with 3-5 years of payroll experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Proficient understanding of payroll processes, laws, and regulations, preferably in a higher education setting
  • Familiarity with integrated HR/Payroll software and proficiency in MS Excel and Word
  • Understanding of bookkeeping practices, including payroll and non-profit tax reporting
  • Experience with electronic banking and payment processes
