Job Summary
Reviewing and analyzing medical documentation, the full-time Oklahoma Inpatient Coding Specialist will assign diagnoses and procedure codes in accordance with coding guidelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Review and analyze inpatient and outpatient medical records to assign appropriate coding
- Adhere to ethical coding standards and official coding guidelines
- Utilize coding classification systems, including ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS, in an acute care setting
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior coding experience in ICD-10-CM and HCPCS/CPT in an acute care setting
- Certification as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CIRCC to be obtained within 6 months of employment
- Working knowledge of coding systems and classification in a healthcare setting
- Experience with 3M encoder and Epic system is preferred
