Job Summary
To support healthcare operations, the full-time Oklahoma Licensed Inpatient Coder will review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate diagnoses and procedure codes while adhering to ethical coding standards in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Review and analyze documentation in medical records for accurate coding of inpatient and outpatient services
- Assign diagnoses and procedure codes in compliance with official coding guidelines
- Maintain knowledge of coding classification systems and ensure adherence to ethical coding standards
Required qualifications
- High school diploma; A.S. or B.S. in Health Information Technology or Management preferred
- Prior experience in ICD-10-CM and HCPCS/CPT coding in an acute care or outpatient setting
- Certification as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CIRCC to be obtained within 6 months of employment
- Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding systems
- Familiarity with 3M encoder and Epic system preferred
