On-Call Laboratory Technician

Job Summary

Seeking dedicated individuals, the on-call Laboratory and Biomedical Technicians will deploy internationally 1-2 times a year for 1-2 weeks, focusing on set-ups, repairs, installations, and providing training in support of surgical teams and mission hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform set-ups, repairs, and installations of laboratory and biomedical equipment
• Participate in training and teaching opportunities for medical staff in low-resource settings
• Support surgical teams by ensuring the functionality of medical equipment during missions

Required qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Laboratory Technician or in a biomedical technological field
• Degree or certification as a Laboratory Technician from an accredited program preferred
• Minimum of an Associate degree in biomedical technology or related field preferred
• Familiarity with laboratory instruments and medical equipment is strongly preferred
• Ability to serve in developing nations and work in low-resource medical settings
