Job Summary

Supporting a government program remotely, the On Call Patent Searcher will perform detailed patent and literature searches in various online databases, focusing on mechanical technology, while adapting to project needs and delivering high-quality search reports.

Key responsibilities

• Conducts detailed patent and non-patent literature searches in online databases, with a preference for mechanical technology
• Analyzes search requests to develop and modify complex search strategies for electronic resources
• Reviews and prepares search results for customers in specified formats, ensuring clarity and accuracy

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technology field
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in electronic database searching
• Expertise in complex searching of scientific and technical literature using major online vendors and tools
• Knowledge of the U.S. patent system and patent examining procedures
• Experience in searching scientific and technical literature in at least one technology area
