Onboarding Specialist

Job Summary

Serving as the primary contact for new members transitioning to a health plan, the full-time hourly Onboarding Specialist will manage telephonic outreach, address member needs, and educate individuals on health plan offerings while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct outreach to new members and advocate for their needs until their care team is established
• Document current healthcare services and new service requests while ensuring continuity of care during the transition
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage members and facilitate their onboarding process

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in call center and/or Medicare/Medicaid plan
• Five years of relevant experience, including one year in outreach or community work with individuals facing complexities
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting and using motivational interviewing techniques
• Familiarity with electronic medical record and care management systems is preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of the community served and basic computer skills
