Job Summary
Identifying and analyzing data from medical records related to diagnosed cancer cases, the full-time Oncology Registry Data Specialist II will perform this role remotely while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and maintaining productivity and accuracy in abstracting tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Researches sources to identify reportable cancer cases and abstracts relevant demographic and treatment information
- Maintains abstracting timeliness and productivity requirements, ensuring at least one abstract is completed every two hours
- Collaborates with the oncology registry team to enhance processes and monitors daily workflow for compliance with performance indicators
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3 or more years of experience in healthcare or healthcare informatics, with a preference for oncology data experience
- Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification required within 24 months of hire
- Knowledge of American College of Surgeons' standards and requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EPIC, and CRStar
