Oncology Financial Clearance Specialist

Job Summary

To support healthcare organizations, the full-time remote Oncology Financial Clearance Specialist will manage administrative and financial components of financial clearance, including insurance validation, pre-certification, and patient registration.

Key responsibilities

• Process financial clearance tasks such as insurance verification, pre-certification, and cost estimates
• Utilize third-party payer websites and tools to retrieve coverage eligibility and authorization requirements
• Develop and maintain rapport with inter-departmental personnel and assist patients with financial clearance inquiries

Required qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurances related to account receivables
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in healthcare billing and reimbursement analysis
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, ICD-10, and CPT/HCPCS code sets
• Basic working knowledge of UB04 and Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
