Oncology Research Partner

Job Summary

To drive scientific leadership in targeted protein degradation and induced proximity, the full-time External Innovation Partner in Oncology Research Intelligence will engage with external innovation ecosystems, identify strategic opportunities, and collaborate cross-functionally to support research initiatives, with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the US.

Key responsibilities:

• Build and maintain relationships with academic and industry leaders in targeted protein degradation and oncology research
• Identify and assess high-impact external scientific opportunities relevant to Astellas' oncology research priorities
• Collaborate with internal teams to translate external insights into strategic research initiatives and support business development efforts

Required qualifications:

• Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MBA, or equivalent) in Oncology, Life Sciences, or a related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, external innovation, or scientific partnering
• Strong understanding of oncology drug discovery and translational science
• Proven ability to engage with scientific leaders and navigate early-stage biotech and academic ecosystems
• Experience in competitive intelligence or strategic scouting within oncology
