Oncology Scientific Director

Job Summary

As the primary scientific lead for oncology accounts, the full-time salaried Oncology Scientific Director will manage the development of high-quality scientific content for educational programs, ensuring compliance and mentoring junior staff while engaging with clients and attending industry events.

Key responsibilities

• Identify client needs and provide strategic recommendations for developing scientific content targeting oncology healthcare professionals
• Analyze clinical literature and treatment guidelines to create content across various oncology therapeutic areas
• Lead project materials through pharmaceutical promotional review processes and mentor Medical Writers and Editors on best practices

Required qualifications

• Clinical degree (PharmD, MD, DO) or advanced degree (MS, PhD) in health or life sciences
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical communications or agency setting; 5+ years preferred
• Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) designation is highly valued
• Demonstrated oncology expertise with the ability to engage with KOLs and pharmaceutical clients
• Management or mentorship experience
