Job Summary
To provide comprehensive clinical interpretations of diagnostic molecular genetic test results, the full-time remote Oncology Variant Assessment Scientist will analyze variants, evaluate literature, and collaborate on research articles while managing variant classification workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Write and interpret molecular test results, including reviews of relevant medical literature
- Participate in updating and developing gene-specific variant classification guidelines
- Train new team members and manage variant pre-classification workflows to ensure timely reporting
Required qualifications
- PhD and/or MD in molecular genetics, human genetics, molecular pathology, or a related field; MS with exceptional expertise may also be considered
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in variant assessment and reporting
- Thorough knowledge of current theories and principles of human genetics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
