Job Summary
To support a summer academic program, the temporary Online High School Astrophysics Instructor will teach a synchronous course for high school students remotely from July 27-31, focusing on the evolution of the universe and advanced topics in cosmology.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging astrophysics lessons via Zoom and Google Classroom to 7-8 high school students
- Guide students through complex topics such as black holes, spacetime, and Einstein's Theory of Relativity
- Facilitate student-led discussions and oversee final research projects incorporating real data
Required qualifications
- 2+ years of experience teaching astrophysics or significant subject matter knowledge
- Experience working with middle or high school-age students in an academic setting preferred
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Ability to effectively explain complex concepts to high school students
- Passion for science education and strong organizational skills
