OpenTelemetry Engineer
Job Summary
To support the development of a GenAI observability platform, an experienced OpenTelemetry/Observability Engineer will work remotely on a contract basis to build a production-ready OTEL ingest gateway, integrate with self-hosted Langfuse, and ensure scalable trace governance and reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Design, configure, and operate an OpenTelemetry Collector gateway, including OTLP ingestion setup
- Integrate OpenTelemetry Collector with Langfuse and build governance and validation logic for trace routing and metadata
- Troubleshoot telemetry ingestion and collector performance issues while managing cloud infrastructure using AWS and Terraform
Required qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry Collector configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience integrating OpenTelemetry with observability platforms, preferably with Langfuse
- Programming experience in Python, Go, or TypeScript
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and hands-on experience with Terraform
- Understanding of production observability concepts, including reliability and scaling
