Operations Technician

Job Summary

Supporting NOAA's Office of Ocean Exploration and Research, the full-time Operations Technician will manage field season planning, develop operational models, and ensure environmental compliance, with the flexibility to work remotely or on-site as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the OER field season timeline, ensuring compliance with necessary permits and regulations
• Develop and refine operational models and procedures for field operations and the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer
• Collaborate with partners to plan explorations, expand program portfolios, and provide technical inputs for documentation

Required qualifications

• Experience in environmental compliance and regulatory processes
• Knowledge of field operations planning and coordination
• Ability to develop operational models and procedures
• Familiarity with NOAA regulations and compliance requirements
• Technical expertise in project documentation and expedition planning
