Job Summary

To drive manufacturing excellence in optical connector termination processes, the full-time salaried Optical Assemblies Engineer will design and optimize manufacturing processes, lead qualification builds, and implement continuous improvement initiatives while working onsite in Rochester, NY.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimize end-to-end optical connector manufacturing processes, including fiber prep, termination, polishing, and testing
• Lead qualification builds and validation runs to confirm capability and statistical control
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives using TEOA tools to enhance cost, yield, and cycle time

Required qualifications

• BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing process development, preferably in precision assembly or fiber optics
• Hands-on experience with optical connector termination and precision processes
• Strong foundation in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Proficiency in creating process specifications and qualification documentation
