Optical Design Technologist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Optical Design Technologist to develop optical prototypes and software for augmented reality applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AR applications using Unity or Unreal Engine and troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues
• Assemble AR optical prototypes and design custom fixtures using CAD software
• Conduct optical measurements and maintain laboratory instruments for performance characterization

Required Qualifications

• Master's and/or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building AR/VR systems or prototypes
• Proficiency in MATLAB, C#, C++, or Python for application development and scripting
• Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and basic fabrication methods
• Strong organizational skills for record-keeping and documentation
