Optical Engineer

Job Summary

To support network capacity growth, the full-time Optical Engineer will coordinate cross-connect orders, investigate discrepancies in infrastructure, and assist with space and power planning for optical deployments, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and process cross-connect orders, ensuring proper installation and documentation
• Investigate and remediate fallout tickets from audits, performing root cause analysis on discrepancies
• Support space and power planning activities, tracking utilization and coordinating with facilities teams

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Basic understanding of fiber optic infrastructure, including connectors and patch panels
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and ticketing systems
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
