Optical Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Optical Engineer to focus on research, development, and assessment of optical sensor systems for U.S. Naval ISR missions.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out technical management, design, development, and operation of sensor systems and processing algorithms
• Develop and analyze spectral target detection, classification approaches, and machine learning models for image processing
• Generate documentation of research results and support collaboration with technology experts

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• PhD in a relevant field
• 1-2 years of experience in optical and active sensing systems
• Knowledge of mathematical techniques and algorithms for signal processing and computer vision
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and MATLAB
• Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch
