Optical System Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated Optical System Engineer, the remote position will focus on designing and building advanced Fiber Optic Communication Switching Networks, leading technical specifications, and collaborating with R&D teams on high-speed optical transceivers and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and document test procedures for qualification of new pluggable optical transceivers and cables
• Collaborate with engineering teams on new product introduction processes and provide onsite support for interoperability demonstrations
• Perform optical and electrical characterization of high-speed pluggable optical transceivers and support external optics certification efforts

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in fiber optic communication and hardware product development
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; Master's degree preferred
• Strong familiarity with high-speed pluggable transceiver form-factors and MSAs
• Experience with optical and electrical test equipment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
