Optimization Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of integrated energy infrastructure, the full-time remote Optimization Engineer will design and implement an optimization platform that utilizes real-time data and forecasting models to enhance market decisions across diverse energy assets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain production code for optimization, bidding, simulation, and forecasting workflows
• Collaborate with trading and operations teams to ensure optimization systems perform reliably in live market conditions
• Guide technical decisions related to data architecture, software design, and system reliability

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience solving optimization problems in production environments
• Familiarity with solvers such as Gurobi, XPRESS, or CPLEX and modeling frameworks like Pyomo or AMPL
• Experience with production code, continuous deployment, and designing for scalability and reliability
• Working knowledge of orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster
• Strong knowledge of energy systems or wholesale power markets is preferred
