Opto-Mechanical Designer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Opto-Mechanical Designer will be responsible for designing and modeling mechanical components that interface with optical elements, developing detailed drawings, and supporting optical subsystem integration and testing.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and model mechanical mounts and systems for optical components such as lenses and mirrors
• Develop assembly and test procedures while supporting optical subsystem integration and testing
• Conduct analysis of design concepts to assess development and manufacturing risks, proposing mitigation strategies

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field with 3 years of experience or 7+ years of related experience
• T/SCI Secret Clearance
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, NX) for mechanical design and modeling
• Experience with all phases of opto-mechanical subsystem development, including conceptual design and assembly drawings
• Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations and support project-level reviews
