Oracle DBA
Job Summary
Supporting a large global organization, the contract Oracle DBA will maintain the stability, performance, security, and reliability of business-critical Oracle and PostgreSQL database environments while working remotely within the continental United States during U.S. Central Time core business hours.
Key responsibilities
- Implement approved DDL and DML changes across production and non-production environments while managing database scripts through Bitbucket
- Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and alerts while troubleshooting database-related application issues
- Support database patching, upgrades, routine maintenance, backup, recovery, and application release activities
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of production database administration experience with strong expertise in Oracle or PostgreSQL
- Experience supporting on-premises and cloud database environments
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex query analysis and script review
- Familiarity with Git/Bitbucket version control for database changes
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field preferred
