Oracle DBA Cloud Migration Specialist
Job Summary
Owning the complete database migration lifecycle, the full-time Oracle DBA Cloud Migration Specialist will manage the rehosting of Oracle databases from on-premises infrastructure to AWS, ensuring operational readiness and performance in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end migration of Oracle databases to AWS, focusing on rehosting to Amazon EC2
- Perform comprehensive assessments of existing database environments and define migration approaches, including prerequisites and validation criteria
- Execute schema and data migrations using Oracle-native tools and provide post-migration support and stabilization
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience, including production support and migration responsibilities
- Strong administration experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, and preferably 21c across various environments
- Demonstrated experience migrating Oracle databases to AWS or other cloud environments
- Hands-on knowledge of AWS services relevant to Oracle workloads, including EC2 and EBS storage
- Experience with Oracle RAC and clustered database configurations
