Order Entry Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely and accurate processing of patient orders, the fully remote Order Entry Specialist will enter patient data into electronic health record systems, maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, and serve as a mentor and trainer for new hires.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately enter and process patient order information while verifying data completeness and compliance with regulations
• Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to clarify orders and verify coverage
• Lead team training sessions, monitor performance metrics, and implement process improvements for order entry operations

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
• One year of work-related experience in healthcare administrative roles or similar environments
• Experience with electronic health record systems and understanding of medical terminology
• Knowledge of insurance verification processes and compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Proficiency in computer systems and database applications relevant to healthcare operations
