Job Summary

A company is looking for a VEC Eligibility Worker (Public Benefits Specialist) who is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview applicants by phone to gather and assess information for various benefits programs
  • Perform eligibility determinations, redeterminations, and periodic reviews
  • Provide person-centered services with a trauma-informed approach to assist callers applying for benefits
Required Qualifications
  • One year of experience at the Human Services Specialist 1 level for the State of Oregon; or
  • Two years of experience working with the public in assistance roles; or
  • An associate degree in a related field and six months of relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required
