Job Summary
A company is looking for a VEC Eligibility Worker (Public Benefits Specialist) who is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Key Responsibilities
- Interview applicants by phone to gather and assess information for various benefits programs
- Perform eligibility determinations, redeterminations, and periodic reviews
- Provide person-centered services with a trauma-informed approach to assist callers applying for benefits
Required Qualifications
- One year of experience at the Human Services Specialist 1 level for the State of Oregon; or
- Two years of experience working with the public in assistance roles; or
- An associate degree in a related field and six months of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required
