Oregon Bilingual Eligibility Worker

Job Summary

A company is looking for a VEC Eligibility Worker (Public Benefits Specialist) who is bilingual in Vietnamese and English.

Key Responsibilities

• Interview applicants by phone to assess eligibility for various public benefit programs
• Perform eligibility determinations and communicate decisions to applicants
• Provide person-centered services with a trauma-informed approach

Required Qualifications

• One year of experience at the Human Services Specialist 1 level for the State of Oregon; or
• Two years of experience working with the public in a relevant capacity; or
• An associate degree in a related field and six months of public service experience; or
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Vietnamese is required
