Job Summary

A company is looking for a Urology Coder (Coding Specialist III).

Key Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and apply correct coding and modifiers for complex specialty surgical procedures and highly specialized services
• Ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid billing regulations and monitor accuracy of coding submissions
• Provide technical expertise on third-party payer and reimbursement issues while orienting peer coders or new hires

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 4 years of professional or hospital coding experience in ICD-10-CM or CPT
• Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT)
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and federal/state insurance billing laws
• Ability to pass an internal coding test to qualify as a Level 3 coder
