Oregon Court-Certified Interpreter

Job Summary

To support the Oregon Office of Administrative Hearings, experienced Court-Certified Interpreters will provide remote telephonic interpreting services, ensuring accurate communication between state representatives and non-English speakers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre-scheduled telephonic interpretation services in a legal context
• Ensure clarity and accuracy of communication between speakers and Limited English Proficient individuals
• Adhere to ethical standards and legal hearing procedures during interpretation sessions

Required qualifications

• Court-Certified or Court-Registered status with credentials available for verification
• Minimum of one year of experience in telephonic interpretation within a legal setting
• Strong understanding of legal hearing procedures
• Full fluency in English and a second language, preferably one of the in-demand languages
• High School Diploma or equivalent education
