Oregon Licensed Managed Care Coordinator

Job Summary

To support the Centralized Managed Care & Price Estimates department, the full-time Oregon Licensed Managed Care Coordinator will manage insurance verification, patient price estimates, and prior authorizations while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal financial services for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and financial status, documenting details in the Epic system
• Create patient liability estimates and collect pre-service payments, ensuring clear communication with patients regarding their financial obligations
• Provide guidance on managed care issues and support other staff in navigating complex referrals and authorizations

Required qualifications

• One year of experience in a medical office setting in a managed care position, or one and a half years in a high-volume public contact role with six months in a medical office
• Thorough knowledge of managed care policies, insurance verification processes, and the Epic system
• Experience with electronic scheduling and medical record systems
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Access
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle confrontational interactions effectively
