Oregon Licensed Managed Care Coordinator

Job Summary

To support the Centralized Managed Care & Price Estimates department, the full-time Oregon Licensed Managed Care Coordinator will manage insurance verification, obtain prior authorizations, and create patient price estimates while collaborating with various healthcare staff and ensuring optimal financial services for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient information and insurance coverage, documenting details in the Epic system
• Obtain and manage prior authorizations for clinical care, procedures, and admissions
• Create patient liability estimates and collect pre-payments prior to services

Required qualifications

• One year of experience in a medical office setting in a managed care position or one and a half years in a high-volume direct public contact position with six months in a medical office
• Thorough knowledge of managed care policies, authorization, and referral processes in EPIC
• Experience with electronic scheduling and electronic medical record systems
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle confrontational interactions
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Access
