Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Biller & Coder for the Podiatry Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Process medical billing claims accurately using appropriate coding systems specific to podiatric procedures
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits prior to submitting claims to ensure proper reimbursement
• Follow up on unpaid claims and conduct medical collections as necessary

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field, preferably in podiatry or a surgical specialty
• Strong knowledge of podiatry-related medical terminology and various coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS)
• Familiarity with medical records management and the healthcare reimbursement process
• Certification in medical billing or coding is a plus; advanced certifications in podiatry coding are highly desirable
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and audit readiness
