Job Summary

To support patient financial needs, the full-time Oregon Licensed Patient Financial Counselor will assist patients in resolving accounts through financial clearance, payment collection, and eligibility determination for state and federal assistance programs in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage patient accounts by facilitating financial clearance and payment collection
  • Identify eligibility and provide education on financial assistance programs
  • Complete and submit applications for various state and federal sponsorship programs
Required qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office
  • 3 years of experience as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, preferably with Providence St. Joseph Health or its affiliates
  • 2 years of experience with automated, computerized account follow-up systems, preferably in Epic
