Job Summary

As a vital contributor to Oregon's workers' compensation mission, the full-time remote Oregon Licensed Senior Actuary will develop loss reserves, prepare financial statements, and provide rate recommendations while collaborating closely with business partners and senior executives.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop reasonable loss and loss adjustment expense reserves and prepare financial statement inputs
  • Conduct trend and market analysis to support rate recommendations and technical underwriting guidelines
  • Monitor external information sources and assess impacts on SAIF's operations and strategies
Required qualifications
  • Four years of actuarial experience in reserving, pricing, or financial modeling, preferably in workers' compensation
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, or a related field
  • Progress towards membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society, including completion of CAS exam 5 or exam 6
  • Experience with regulatory audits and financial reporting
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
