Job Summary
As a vital contributor to Oregon's workers' compensation mission, the full-time remote Oregon Licensed Senior Actuary will develop loss reserves, prepare financial statements, and provide rate recommendations while collaborating closely with business partners and senior executives.
Key responsibilities
- Develop reasonable loss and loss adjustment expense reserves and prepare financial statement inputs
- Conduct trend and market analysis to support rate recommendations and technical underwriting guidelines
- Monitor external information sources and assess impacts on SAIF's operations and strategies
Required qualifications
- Four years of actuarial experience in reserving, pricing, or financial modeling, preferably in workers' compensation
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, or a related field
- Progress towards membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society, including completion of CAS exam 5 or exam 6
- Experience with regulatory audits and financial reporting
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
