Orthopedic Medical Coder
Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time remote Orthopedic Medical Coder will provide coding and abstracting services for inpatient, outpatient, and clinic visits, utilizing ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 data sets while ensuring compliance with established coding principles.
Key responsibilities
- Review medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding
- Abstract and document information from medical records according to client guidelines
- Mentor training coders and new hires by providing education and support
Required qualifications
- CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA certification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in both Orthopedic Profee and Facility coding
- Experience coding Clinic E&M, diagnoses, and CPTs
- Proficiency in Neurology coding
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles and guidelines
