Job Summary
To lead the claims review program, the remote Orthopedic Spine Surgery Medical Director will manage surgical and professional claims reviews, participate in provider discussions, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while working full-time.
Key responsibilities:
- Reviews surgical and professional claims for correct coding using clinical records
- Discusses cases and clinical coding situations with treating providers telephonically
- Supports compliance with regulatory agency standards and provides clinical support for initial reviews
Required qualifications:
- MD or DO with a current, active, and fully unrestricted medical license
- Current board certification in Orthopedic Surgery with fellowship training and substantial clinical experience in Spine Surgery
- 5+ years of clinical experience post-residency
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
