Job Summary
Providing expert consulting services, the part-time Orthopedic Surgeon MD will assist the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) with regulatory responsibilities related to medical devices, including participating in reviews, conducting research, and coordinating stakeholder meetings, all performed remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Support medical device reviews and regulatory submissions by developing written reviews and correspondence
- Conduct research and data analysis related to orthopedic surgery and medical devices
- Coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project objectives
Required qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D. or equivalent) from an accredited medical school in the United States
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted medical license to practice in the U.S
- At least ten years of relevant clinical experience in orthopedic surgery
- Certification from a U.S. specialty board organization, such as the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS)
- Thorough understanding of current clinical practices and medical devices used in orthopedic surgery
