Orthopedic Surgery Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Physician Coder: Orthopedics.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and accurately code Orthopedic Surgery and E/M cases to maximize reimbursement
• Work independently to research coding scenarios and meet daily production and quality goals
• Stay current on coding guidelines and participate in department meetings

Required Qualifications and Education

• High School diploma required; Associates or BS degree preferred
• Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC certified program with a valid professional credential (CCS, CPC, etc.)
• Minimum of 3 years of physician coding experience in Orthopedics
• Proficient knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10 coding, and billing policies
• Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic healthcare record systems; remote work experience preferred
