Orthopedic Surgery Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time or part-time Single Path Same Day Surgery Coder will work remotely, focusing on accurately coding outpatient orthopedic surgical procedures from medical records to ensure compliance and charge capture.

Key responsibilities

• Review outpatient same day surgery medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes
• Code a variety of orthopedic surgical procedures while ensuring compliance with NCCI edits and payer guidelines
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while staying updated on coding policies and regulations

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent Same Day Surgery coding experience
• Extensive experience coding orthopedic surgery procedures
• Experience with both professional and facility services in a single-pathway workflow
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, modifier assignment, and NCCI edits
• Certification from AHIMA or AAPC (e.g., CCS, CPC, COC, RHIA, RHIT) is required
